Hi Brian... I've had some difficulties getting my recordings to be loud enough to be heard. Once I change some settings as per instructions in the general discussion it was better. Canyou give guidance on changing the levels for recording and also how to see the trouble spots.
Thanks
Hi Megsie - Try adjustting the distance to your phone by keeping it close to your mouth when recording. Most phones have their mics in the base of device. If it's still too soft, try adjusting the record volume level on the app, and maybe bringing down the track volume, if it's drowning out the recording. Good luck!
Thanks, I was using headphones so I'll see how it goes without
Much better 💜
So I've tried singing incorrect notes (harder than I thought haha) as Sharon showed me how it goes red but mine didn't. Any hints on what I might be doing wrong?
If it’s a really short note, it might not pick it up. But also make sure it’s a strong recording, Definitely wear headphones or else the mic will pick up the learning track and think that’s you. :-)
Hi Brian. My headphones aren’t working when I try and record myself against the learning track. They work when I play your clips in the app. Can you help. Ta, Teri
Hi Teri, is it possible that the "Track Volume" (blue slider control) is turned all the way down? Check that, and maybe try swapping with some wired headphones, if that doesn't fix it. Cheers.
Thanks Brian. Will do.
Suggestion: highlight the info about the recording coming from device microphone more visibly, maybe even in the "PartPerfect Overview" audio track.
I couldn't figure out what to do to increase the volume on my recording. Also I'm so used to being able to pop in earbuds and walk away from my phone that it wasn't until I completely walked away while recording that I figured it out.
Thanks Jenni- that overview is due for an update, now that I’m getting better idea on where some of the issues lie. For iPhone the mic is always on the bottom of the phone, but it varies for Android.
Understood! It was more a question of making it clear in your documentation that it's the device microphone not the headphones/earbuds. Might be good to have that in the overview and then also add something in the FAQ, e.g. "How do I increase my recording volume?" and then using that as another place to inform folks to use device
Good idea - will do!
